We’re sad to report that Google has announced it will discontinue support for GMail contextual gadgets on August 1, 2018.
Appirio’s CloudFactor application uses the contextual gadgets technology to surface Salesforce CRM information in GMail, so CloudFactor will not be visible in GMail after August 1, 2018. We will fully support CloudFactor until Google disables contextual gadgets (even if that’s after August 1).
In addition, Appirio will investigate porting CloudFactor to the new GMail Add-Ons platform, and we will follow up if and when that becomes available. Your organization may also wish to consider Salesforce’s Lightning for Gmail Chrome extension as an alternative to CloudFactor.
Feel free to contact support with any questions. We thank you for your support as an Appirio customer.
